The table above details the current points scored in the club championships order by groups. Jon Evans is the administrator for the club championships. If you have any queries you could find him at the club training nights or please contact him via e-mail or the club Facebook page.
For the running season which is January to December the club selects 16 local races (8 short and 8 long) to form the championship. We also select reserve races in case any race is cancelled. Members results for their best four short and four long times count.
This includes best Parkrun time and best Marathon time.
.Members are divided into groups based on ability, so slower runners have an equal chance of winning awards.
New members will be allocated a group based on their first 10km time. Group qualifying times are group A – 10km in under 40 minutes; group B – 10km in under 45 minutes; group C – 10km in over 45 minutes; and group D – 10km in over 50 minutes. The winner of each group will move up to the next group. Anyone not running the qualifying times for two years in their group may move down a group. These changes are based on invitation.
Members joining the club part way through the year will be eligible for the championships provided they join before July 1st.
12 points are awarded to the winner of the group, and then 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 thereafter. The member with the highest points in the group for four short and four long races, wins. Prizes are awarded at the annual club awards in January.
When entering races members must remember to write their club name as NWRRC on the entry form as the people administering the club championship tables need to be able to identify our members race results.
When running, members should also wear a club vest to qualify for points unless there is agreement prior to the race.
